In Delhi Liquor not allowed to be served in hotels, restaurants: Excise dept



Wet one's whistle have to wait for some more days before they could enjoy drinks at their favourite spots, as serving liquor at bars in hotels, clubs and restaurants in the city is yet not allowed, clarified Excise department.

New Delhi, Jun 15 (PTI) Booze darlings should hang tight for some more days before they could appreciate drinks at their #1 spots, as serving alcohol at bars in lodgings, clubs and eateries in the city is yet not permitted, explained Excise division.

With a significant improvement in the COVID-19 circumstance in the public capital, alcohol shops and cafés that were shut after the burden of lockdown in April have resumed now.

"Bars in the lodgings, clubs and eateries are not permitted to open till additional orders," expressed an explanation gave by the Excise Department of Delhi government on Monday.

All alcohol shops in business sectors, shopping centers and market edifices (outside control zones) are permitted to work between 10 am to 8 pm, it said. The alcohol distributes in the city returned in Delhi on June 6. 

The explanation was given considering inquiries about bars in inns, clubs and cafés after Delhi government permitted eateries to resume from Monday, an authority said. 

The cafés allowed to serve takeaways have now been permitted to run with 50% seating limit on a preliminary premise till June 21. 

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in its request on Sunday expressed that business sectors and eateries will be under close watch for severe execution of Covid.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said presently, the economy of Delhi must be welcomed on target. For this, we had effectively proposed opening every one of the lodgings in Delhi, which was dismissed by the Central government. We again mentioned the focal government, and we are glad that now the proposition of the Delhi government has been supported. Presently all inns in Delhi will be opened." 

"We invite the move by the State Government to permit the inn and friendliness organizations to begin tasks again in New Delhi," Hotel Association of India (HAI) said in a proclamation.
